Hi everyone! My name's Thomas and I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Science (Advanced) at the Australian National University. I've always had a passion for science and maths, but it wasn't until year 11 that I realised I also have a passion for teaching science and maths! I find the feeling of cracking a tough problem or having a tricky concept finally 'click' immensely satisfying, so helping my classmates have more of those 'aha!' moments seemed like a no-brainer. I aim to help my students achieve a deep, intuitive understanding of the subjects they are learning, and maybe even enjoy them! Having spent too long being taught by nothing but rote memorisation and textbook questions, I know you can't teach by brute-force. My first step is always to make sure my students really get what they're learning — practice comes later. I remember how hectic high school can be. In my final two years of high school I played drums and percussion in multiple community bands, held a causal job, and maintained a decent social life; all while devoting a fair bit of attention to school! Apparently I did something right, surprising myself by graduating as Dux of my high school with a 99.80 ATAR. So, my goal is to help you maintain that treasured school-life balance while achieving the results you want. These days, when university isn't keeping me occupied I'm probably playing board games with friends, skiing, or playing drums!

I have a passion for learning new languages, I am familiar with Japanese, Hindi and Gujarati. But I have also always had a love for teaching, and would love to help you out! Hi I'm Sasha! I graduated through the QCE system with an ATAR of 97.9 and am now studying a dual degree of science and arts at ANU! I love writing so high school English was a great way for me to express myself. I graduated English with a score of 95/100, and achieved a top score on my analytical and persuasive essays. Through a combination of my own development, some incredible teachers and helping many of my peers with their assignments, I've come up with a tonne of strategies to help you conquer English. English is tricky because it is subjective - there's no right or wrong answer like in math. And it can be insanely frustrating, getting marked down for something where there is no "right answer". This is where I can help, by proving to you that it is never WHAT you are writing that is letting you down in English - the key is refining HOW you say it (you've got to hit those pesky syllabus objectives!) I also gained a score of 99 for Drama, another essay and analysis centric course that exposed me to a variety of diverse texts and writing styles. Alongside my arts subjects I've always been passionate about science and math, and I'd love to help out Grade 5-10 students will all their STEM needs! Between uni, work and study, I spend my time dancing, making digital artwork, acting and listening to music.
