Hi there! My name is Brinda and I am a second year student, studying Computer Science and Data Analytics at the ANU in Canberra! I graduated from my high school as the STEM Captain, and college DUX, achieving an ATAR of 99.4 and receiving awards in Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and French. These were my favourite subjects of the year and I hope that those of you who also take these subjects, enjoy them just as much as I did! Of course, each subject comes with its own challenges and frustrations, and studying was definitely not the best part of high school, so I'd like to make this as enjoyable and easy as possible, while making sure that YOU understand and can achieve your own personal goals. During years 11 and 12, my biggest priority was to balance my extracurriculars and social activities with my subjects and studies. I knew that I needed to also have time to myself to do other things I enjoy so I made sure to use my study time efficiently so that I could maximise my learning, as well as my other activities. As soon as I realised that it would be possible to spend less time studying, yet still achieve the same, if not better results at the end of it, I decided to become a tutor so I would be able to pass on these strategies to younger students. After graduating high school as DUX, I decided to pursue my passion of teaching Maths and Languages to students through private tutoring. Seeing their smiles and sudden moments of realisation when they finally understand something they had struggled to understand previously, is something which keeps me going and striving to be a better tutor each day! Other than tutoring, my favourite hobbies would be dancing (yes I dance and I am actually quite committed!) and learning languages (I speak 7... so I guess I am well on my way to becoming a polyglot :)). Hi! My name is Mirielle and I graduated from the Perth Modern School with an ATAR of 99.65 and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)-HaSS at the Australian National University. I know how chaotic high school can be, as an ATAR student I competed in gymnastics and netball, participated in extra-curricular activities such as debating, model UN and mock trials, maintained a casual job as well as maintained a healthy social life. Thus, I can relate to the struggle of trying to consistently fit in the study. As a tutor, I prioritise personalising our lessons to maximise how much we can achieve in the time we have together. That means having flexible teaching styles and constantly adapting to what works to your learning strengths. Furthermore, I hope to share skills and strategies for learning, studying and time management overall, I believe that providing you with a greater toolbox for high school overall is super important as well as weekly subject-specific content! Hello! I am Yangda and I graduated from Cranbrook School with an ATAR of 99.55. I'm currently studying for an undergraduate research degree at the ANU in physics with minors in mathematics and computer science. My approach to tutoring is to inspire students and cultivate the same passion that I have for teaching the subjects. As long as you love what you are learning, the marks will follow! With quite an interdisciplinary background, I will aim to put everything you are learning out of the context of an exam environment and into a broader perspective. Of course, I also have a lot of tips and tricks to maximise your marks as well! It's all about finding that sweet spot which is why each lesson will be tailored to your wants and needs.
