Online Tutoring

Hi, my name is Emma Ashley and I graduated in 2020 with a 99.45 ATAR. Since then, I have gone on to study Law with Honours and PPE, Politics Philosophy and Economics, at the Australian National University. I have been involved with KIS Academics in many capacities over the last 2.5 years, namely as the Legal and Finances consultant, NSW state consultant, Events manager, Sales Manager and developing the English Advanced Online Course.

I began tutoring as soon as I finished my HSC in November 2020, and soon enough I was conducting approximately 20 hours of lessons every week. This means that across the past 3 years I have tutored 70+ students … and counting! Why you may ask? Because I genuinely love sharing knowledge with others. There is nothing more valuable to me than seeing a student become excited to learn, the ‘ah ha’ moment where they finally understand or when they tell me about an amazing grade they just received.

My role as a tutor is to facilitate learning in a safe, comfortable environment, whilst focusing on areas of weakness and improving exam technique, things often over looked in the classroom. I intend for students to take agency over their learning and therefore ensure that they are able to guide lessons to suit their needs at the time, as usually the student knows what they need to focus on better than anyone else. My assistance and guidance extends beyond the classroom as I am always happy to communicate with my students if they have urgent questions or would like feedback before our next lesson.

Hello!! I’m Amelia. I graduated high school with an ATAR 99.3, an English score of 50, and a 99th percentile score (3250) in the UCAT. I graduated from a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Biomedical Science) in 2023 with a GPA 6.75. During my undergraduate degree I was also fortunate to study for a semester overseas at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, in their Biomedical Science Honours program! I am currently in my first year of the Doctor of Medicine at UQ.

My hobbies include exercise, live music and spending time with friends, and these weren’t activities I was willing to give up completely in order to achieve academic success. Instead, through organisation, time management and efficient study; I was able to balance all three!

Since graduating in 2020, I have tutored for over 1000 hours for more than fifty students from Year 5-12, helping them to ace their exams and achieve their personal academic goals. My aim is to help my students succeed in their studies by taking a holistic approach to their learning. I wish to share my tips and tricks for success with my students and provide them with guidance and mentoring as they journey through their senior studies.

Hi there!

My name is Juliet and I am an English Literature and HASS tutor. I am studying a Bachelor of Philosophy at UWA, majoring in Business Analytics and Business Law and a Fogarty Foundation Scholar. In year 12, I received a scaled score of 100 in ATAR Literature, and was the course award winner (top student) at Perth Modern School. My responses from my WACE exams were also published in the Good Answers guide for ATAR Literature and ATAR Politics and Law. Over high school, I learnt strategies and study methods which helped me to succeed in English, and I hope to share these with you too!

English and HASS subjects have no formula/theory to follow, and so understanding what examiners are looking for, and keeping consistently high scores can be very challenging. To address this, I have extensive resources made of model answers, vocabulary lists, and practice exercises which will help you understand what and how to write, allowing you to maximise your marks efficiently.

All lesson plans are individually structured in a way that suits your learning style, helps improve your specific skillset, and is relevant to your curriculum and any upcoming assessments you have. Whether you want to increase your average to a 60% or 90%, I would love to work with you to get the marks you deserve. I believe in creating an empathetic learning environment where you feel understood and supported, though I’ll also be there to push you to go further, as someone who knows you can do it and will delight in your successes!

In my spare time, when I'm not studying for university or tutoring, I enjoy playing violin, dancing and volunteering as a facilitator for model UN competitions.
