Hi! My name is Emma Ashley and I have been a tutor at KIS for 4 years.

I graduated high school in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.45 and continued my studies at the Australian National University, pursuing a double degree in Law (Honours) and Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE). I recently completed my PPE degree in November 2024 with a High Distinction Average, and I am on track to graduate from my Law (Hons) degree in November 2025 with First Class Honours.

My tutoring journey began immediately after completing the
HSC in 2020. Since then, I have conducted over 1,670 hours of lessons, working with 76 students. My motivation? A genuine love for sharing knowledge and the joy of seeing students experience those “aha” moments. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching students grow in confidence, master challenging concepts, or celebrate an outstanding grade.

As a tutor, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment that focuses on each student’s unique needs. I emphasise exam techniques and target areas for improvement that often don’t receive enough attention in the classroom. My goal is for students to take ownership of their learning, and I tailor each lesson to reflect their current priorities, because no one knows their needs better than they do. I am also readily available outside of lesson times for quick questions or feedback.

Besides from tutoring for the past four years, I’ve been actively involved with KIS Academics, where I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the growth of our NSW team as a foundational member. Over time, my responsibilities have expanded from managing the NSW division to leading our Events and Sales team. Today, as a core executive, I oversee the legal and financial operations of KIS and am incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made and the values we uphold.

With my final graduation approaching, 2025 will be my last year of tutoring. While this is bittersweet, I’m excited to work with one last cohort of students in subjects including Mathematics, English, Economics, and Legal Studies. Hello!! I’m Amelia. I graduated high school with an ATAR 99.3, an English score of 50, and a 99th percentile score (3250) in the UCAT. I graduated from a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Biomedical Science) in 2023 with a GPA 6.75. During my undergraduate degree I was also fortunate to study for a semester overseas at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, in their Biomedical Science Honours program! I am currently in my first year of the Doctor of Medicine at UQ.

My hobbies include exercise, live music and spending time with friends, and these weren’t activities I was willing to give up completely in order to achieve academic success. Instead, through organisation, time management and efficient study; I was able to balance all three!

Since graduating in 2020, I have tutored for over 1000 hours for more than fifty students from Year 5-12, helping them to ace their exams and achieve their personal academic goals. My aim is to help my students succeed in their studies by taking a holistic approach to their learning. I wish to share my tips and tricks for success with my students and provide them with guidance and mentoring as they journey through their senior studies.

Hi there!

My name is Juliet and I am an English Literature and HASS tutor. I am studying a Bachelor of Philosophy at UWA, majoring in Business Analytics and Business Law and a Fogarty Foundation Scholar. In year 12, I received a scaled score of 100 in ATAR Literature, and was the course award winner (top student) at Perth Modern School. My responses from my WACE exams were also published in the Good Answers guide for ATAR Literature and ATAR Politics and Law. Over high school, I learnt strategies and study methods which helped me to succeed in English, and I hope to share these with you too!

English and HASS subjects have no formula/theory to follow, and so understanding what examiners are looking for, and keeping consistently high scores can be very challenging. To address this, I have extensive resources made of model answers, vocabulary lists, and practice exercises which will help you understand what and how to write, allowing you to maximise your marks efficiently.

All lesson plans are individually structured in a way that suits your learning style, helps improve your specific skillset, and is relevant to your curriculum and any upcoming assessments you have. Whether you want to increase your average to a 60% or 90%, I would love to work with you to get the marks you deserve. I believe in creating an empathetic learning environment where you feel understood and supported, though I’ll also be there to push you to go further, as someone who knows you can do it and will delight in your successes!

In my spare time, when I'm not studying for university or tutoring, I enjoy playing violin, dancing and volunteering as a facilitator for model UN competitions.
