Whilst I haven't confirmed a major yet, I'm aiming to study Economics and Politics, using directly the subjects I completed in year 12. I'm really keen to continue tutoring, as I am passionate about ensuring that students are as supported as possible in what can be a really challenging time throughout school. Having graduated from school recently and a year younger than my classmates, I am not a stranger to how the school system and VCAA itself functions, not to mention the unique challenges of high school. Hello! I’m Jerry Yip, a 2022 graduate of Prince Alfred College (Adelaide) with an ATAR of 98.55. I’m a Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and EAL tutor in both VCE and IB curriculum. I did the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in my last two year of high school and achieve merits in Mathematics, Economics and Chemistry and Sports Science. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedicine in the University of Melbourne, with an interest in biomedical research. Despite the high workload in high school, I find a way to balance between my hobbies (reading and running) and my academic commitments and I find that this is my key to my success. Personally I find that maintaining a normal lifestyle can help you to achieve better academic outcomes. In terms of study techniques, I think the key to success is built around these four components. Build a genuine interest in your chosen subjects, strengthen your foundation of the subject’s nature, knowing what assessors are looking for, and mastering effective study techniques. I would like to use my experiences from high school and university to share my knowledge and experience to help you all! During our session, I will tailor made our lessons to ensure you are on track with your current studies and any upcoming assessments. My number one priority would be helping you to understand key contents and ideas well and develop approaches to tackle different type of assessments. This will be done by working through practice problems and past exams, with a comprehensive collection of notes and past exams that I’ve accumulated throughout my times in school. Hello! I'm Jacob, studying Bachelor of Biomedicine in the University of Melbourne. I would like you to join my journey towards the treasure island, more specifically an upgrade of yourself! I graduated my high school as a Subject Representative (Dux) in Chemistry and Mathematics. I really enjoyed studying those subjects with all my passion, and I would like to find someone who can further continue my passion. My Chemistry teacher is the ideal form of tutor that I would like to become. He used to associate common situations that I would have experienced in my highschool life and make the subject as fun as possible.
