Hi there! My name is Zihan Xu (you can also call me Tommy if you want). I graduated high school from Somerset College on the Gold Coast and currently studying Bachelor of Actuarial Studies at UNSW. I achieved full marks for my internal assessments for specialist mathematics and mathematics method in year 12.
 
Actuarial Studies in a very "maths heavy" degree and I wouldn't choose to do it without my passion with maths. During my year in university I developed my knowledge far beyond the high school maths content. Now when I look back to my high school times I find there are lots of students who are able to achieve great marks while spending large amount of time on work and co-curricular activities.
Therefore I believe efficiency is very important. Based on my tutoring experience, different students have completely different study style and I will try to provide lesson that suits each individual students in my lesson to make sure that every students are studying efficiently. I am able to use my experience to pick out questions that have high chances to be tested on and to develop students' ability to independently solve complex unfamiliar questions by teaching them in an intuitive way to help them really understand deeply into the mathematical concepts behind those questions. I think this can effectively improve students' result in the future.
