Hi, my name's Yang and I'm currently studying a B.A. (Mathematics) at the University of Cambridge. I completed high school in Brisbane at St Joseph's College Gregory Terrace under the QCE curriculum and achieved a score of 100 in Mathematical Methods and Physics, 99 in Chemistry, and 93 in Specialist Mathematics, but my understanding of the content goes far beyond this. I've achieved exceptional results in maths and science olympiads all through high school, went to national maths training schools, been invited to lecture for the QLD maths olympiad program, and was 6th in Australia in maths competitions in my last 2 years of high school. As you can guess, I love the beauty of maths, and this beauty is something every student should get to experience. And this beauty is best experienced for themselves; it's much more helpful to guide students to discover and understand concepts by themselves, as they will then learn how to solve problems on their own. I've been tutoring students from year 5-12 for 3 years now and have always been able to engage and connect with them to produce a noticeable improvement in their grades. With my hobbies, I've done a bit of everything over the years, from soccer and basketball to saxophone, chess, debating, and reading, so I know what it's like to juggle everything with studying, and how to get a student's focus on academics despite everything else. The key to success is motivation, and that's one thing I can do with my knowledge of the content and interesting bits nestled beneath the drudgery of school teaching, my engaging personality, and my passion for maths and science.
