Hi there, my name is Sam and I’m an engineering and commerce student at UNSW tutoring all things related to maths. I’m a recent high school graduate and have been tutoring students for over a year. My passion for tutoring stems from my high school experiences where it was not always a smooth sailing road for me. I wouldn’t see a reflection of my effort in the grades I achieved which was disheartening so, I had to turn myself around in year 11/12 by learning how to study smarter and was able to achieve an ATAR in the top 2%. Likewise, in my tutoring I want to show my students you don’t have to be naturally talented or commit painstaking hours to get the grades you want, you just have to study SMART.

Lucky for you, I specialise solely in maths and strongly believe in the idea that all students have different starting points. With my lessons, I cater specifically to a student’s learning style and ability, with a strong emphasis on deviating from the idea of rote learning. Now in my experiences, both being tutored and tutoring. I want my students to feel more confident tackling the subjects they do and overall develop their problem-solving skills.

Outside of academics, I enjoy playing basketball, piano, reading, as well as binging TV shows and movies. Thanks for listening, and I look forward to helping you out in your learning journey.
