A bit about me
Hey guys, my name is Nimrada (everyone calls me Nim though!) and I’m here to help you get the most out of your subjects in the most painless way possible!
I graduated from high school with an ATAR of 98.85, scoring highly in English, Biology and Maths Methods, and received the All-Rounder award. At school, I was not only passionate about my subjects, but also took the opportunity to involve myself in as much extra-curricular activities as I could — I was captain of the debating team, and an avid member of the Social Justice Club.
I have always believed that whenever one can derive some sort of meaning from the work they do, they are more likely to excel in it and enjoy the process, and this is the mindset I try to channel into my tutoring.
I knew from my high school experiences that the teachers I had impacted me significantly, not performance wise, but by the ways they had inspired me to think deeply about the world around me.
I really do think tutors can offer such valuable mentoring to students, and not only assist them in excelling academically but can instil in them a passion for the subject, that they will take with them all their life.
Especially with subjects such as English, my hope has always been to teach students to think for themselves, and to find some meaning in their texts — through such a holistic approach, students not only enjoy the subject but also do exceedingly well.
While I study a Bachelor of Biomedicine at Melbourne Uni (in the hopes of pursuing Medicine), I still choose a few English subjects here and there, to refine my skills and make sure that I maintain a balance between Science and Arts subjects - this concept of balance between work, friends, and hobbies is something I hope I can pass onto future students.
