A bit about me
Hi! My name is Lincoln!
I received my education in Hong Kong before doing VCE, so I had to learn to make decisions independently and adapt to new cultures quickly. Having adapted to VCE quickly and managing to score a pretty good ATAR (in my opinion), I’m determined to make preparation for VCE easier for you and teach you how I picked up on a new curriculum and new concepts so quickly.
I enjoy Chemistry and Mathematical Methods in particular because there are a lot of abstract concepts that draw my interest, thus creating the drive for me to study and do well in those subjects. In the coursework I did, I always tried to put myself in the mind of the examiner and predict exactly what questions would appear on the exam. The way I studied those subjects even made me invent new ways to understand the concepts that were being taught faster and more efficiently than at school.
For Chemistry, in particular, I also did a University level subject alongside Year 12 to get a sneak peek about what to expect. Surprisingly, instead of burning myself out by taking an extra subject, it rejuvenated my interest towards an otherwise strenuous Year 12 course and it gave me a lot of new areas to investigate.
Throughout VCE, I was also a key member of the school orchestra, playing in three different ensembles at once. Thus, I learned to manage my time well in order to maintain all of my academic and musical commitments.
Currently I’m studying Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. I’m still part of their orchestra, and my social circle is quickly expanding at uni. I also involve myself in the school’s Christian Union, and I’m loving every bit of it.
