Hi I'm John!

I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biomedicine at the University of Queensland and will be moving on to a Doctor of Medicine in 2024.

Year 11 and 12 was a bit of a struggle for me! On top of COVID restrictions, my overwhelming schedule was starting to eat away at my learning. Between my constant involvement in musical extra-curriculars and practicing for my LMusA, I wasn't always able to spend my time on studying. That's why I found strategies to learn efficiently, maximising the amount of content learnt in a short amount of time.

My approach to teaching is to guide my students through the strategies and habits necessary in order to arrive at a deeper understanding of the course content, rather than rote-learning or regurgitating key dot points. Efficient learning strategies are unique to each person, so I'll work with you to make sure each lesson is personalised to your strengths and areas for improvement! I'll provide extensive feedback on any work you send to me either during or outside of lessons.

I'm an avid musician, so you'll find me balancing my time between studying anatomical structures, playing violin, heading to the gym, and trying to figure out where all my classrooms are at UQ!
