A bit about me
Hi everyone! My name is Jasmine and I graduated high school as one of the State's top scorers, achieving an ATAR of 99.35. This led me to receive a place as a Principal's Scholar at the University of Melbourne where I now study Biomedicine.
I took all three maths subjects in VCE, these being Spesh, Methods and Further (Networks and Decision Mathematics, and Matrices Modules). My own appreciation for maths comes from the satisfaction of problem solving, and I love helping students find their own inner passion for maths, even when they are not initially fans. I aim to build confidence in my 1 on 1 sessions with students who may be struggling by consolidating challenging concepts and teaching ahead of the course.
Throughout my final years of school, I was able to harmoniously balance my co-curricular activities such as rowing and musical theatre, with my studies and thus travel through VCE relatively calmly. However, I was not always like this and struggled a lot with assessment related stress in earlier years. I believe this hindsight allows me to work empathetically with students, as well as support them through similar, tough situations.
In my spare time, I love taking ballet classes, singing, cooking and spending time with my friends.
