A bit about me
Hey there, I'm Jake!! Here is a quick overview of my educational background, what I can offer you and a little bit about my lifestyle and passions.
I graduated from Saint Ignatius College in Riverview, achieving an Atar of 99.40. I am now studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic) combined with a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) at the University of Sydney. Combining my passion for analytical thinking and problem solving, I hope to positively impact the world in an exciting, rapidly changing technological era. As such, throughout school I have always loved Maths, from the simplest of questions to the most extravagant, brain-draining problems. Additionally, I enjoyed economics in year 11 and 12, in which I achieved a HSC mark of 94.
Accordingly, as a Maths and Economics tutor, I would love to pass my knowledge on to you. This involves sharing effective study habits (one that suits your individual needs and out-of-school commitments) that allows you to achieve the top marks in your cohort, or, alternatively, build your confidence and motivation in a subject that isn't necessarily your strong suit. I understand that different students have different learning needs and require different learning environments and patterns. Thus, I would love to get to know you on a personal level, beyond a homework-like environment, to create the best possible sessions for you. I love working with younger students, and feel a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction when I see someone gain confidence and succeed in something that was once foreign and difficult.
Personally, I love football; I have played it all my life. For me year 12 was primarily about organisation and time management, as I juggled my rigorous training schedule (4-5 nights a week) with my studies; constantly adapting to find the most effective habits and routines. Currently, still playing football, I also love surfing (I live on the Northern Beaches), going to the gym and hanging out with mates at the beach or parties.
Thank you, I hope you've enjoyed getting to know me and I look forward to meeting you soon!!
