A bit about me
Hi! My name is Emilia and I’m currently studying medicine at Bond University, after studying a year of physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. I graduated from Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2021 with an ATAR of 99.15, where in grade 12 I achieved 98% in Biology and Physics, 97% in Chemistry, and was awarded dux of Biology. I also received the QCAA-awarded certificate of commendation for achieving A (>90%) in all six senior subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematical Methods, English, Chinese).
Having recently completed the new ATAR system in Queensland, I have a thorough understanding of not only the senior syllabus, assessments, and ISMG marking guides, but also of junior high school content for my subjects. As a tutor, I aim to pass on this knowledge and other tips and tricks to help students achieve their best by explaining and breaking down difficult concepts, walking through various questions and practice papers, and providing numerous resources such as personal notes and materials from school. I’ve also experienced how busy high school is and how difficult it is to balance schoolwork with extra-curricular activities and other commitments; therefore, I aim to additionally pass on time-management and organisation skills I’ve learnt through my high school experiences.
Most importantly, I hope to inspire students to be motivated to do their best, and to strive to achieve their goals. I understand that everyone’s motivations, goals and learning styles will be different, therefore I will spend the time to get to know individuals, and tailor sessions to target their specific difficulties and any questions they have.
In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, keeping up with sports, playing violin and piano, and catching up with friends.
