A bit about me
Hey! I’m Elliot, and I made it through the trenches of Year 12 with an ATAR of 98.20. I graduated from Brisbane Grammar School and am currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Sonography at CQU.
Here’s a bit more about me.
Year 12 was by far the most challenging year of my life, but also the most memorable. As somebody who was always an avid member of various co-curricular activities, I juggled the duties of my ATAR with volleyball, two school orchestras and serving as a form senior. Outside of school, I had also auditioned for the competitive Australian Youth Orchestra Program (and was accepted, subtle flex). Yet, I still found time to hang out with friends, stay active and make the most out of the time I had in the last year of school.
How did I manage this? Well, aside from maybe not practicing trombone as much as I should have, I learnt how to study productively. Especially with Chemistry, a subject that was initially my worst, I managed to turn it to one of my best subjects. I did this by finding ways to break down hard concepts in a way that I could digest it, and from there, applying my knowledge in revision until I understood it thoroughly. In Year 12, I was awarded a certificate of excellence in Chemistry by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
These days, I find myself studying for my degree, playing the piano and trombone and hanging out with my friends.
