A bit about me
Hi, my name is Cody and I graduated Haileybury with an ATAR of 99.70 and a study score of 50 in English.
I completed 3/4 biology in year 11 and at the time, I thought I had prepared perfectly for my exams. I worked tirelessly throughout the year, always stayed on top of my studies, and when exams came around, I knuckled down and did every practice exam I could find.
I was disappointed to receive a study score of 44, despite all my hard work, and feeling extremely confident walking out of the exam. I was disheartened at first, believing I was simply not cut out for the top scores – attainable only for the freaks of nature among us. But I refused to believe that this was what was holding me back from achieving my dream ATAR.
Accordingly, I abandoned my strategy of working as hard as humanly possible going into year 12 and sought to learn from the success of those around me. By shifting towards a more purposeful and goal-oriented approach, I was able to turn my VCE journey around – and I strive to bring these same principles to my tutoring in both Biology and English!
I am now studying the Doctor of Medicine at Monash University in between working my way through every streaming platform there is and salvaging what’s left of my former fitness on runs and in the gym!
