A bit about me
Hi there!
I'm Amelie and I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science (medicine pathway) at the Australian National University (ANU). I have a lifelong love of learning, and it's my great passion to pass this on to the future generations of wonderful students! Learning is, fundamentally, an enjoyable and exciting adventure for everyone, if done the right way, so it is my goal to ensure that I facilitate this for every student. I believe anyone can achieve their academic potential with a bit of effort, and a little bit of help and support each week. It's my goal to foster a love of learning in all my students through an inclusive environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and grow from them.
I graduated from a selective high school as Proxime Accessit (2nd in my cohort) with an ATAR of 99.70, after struggling with motivation through the COVID lockdowns. However, due to this, I developed some pretty great (if I do say so myself) study tips and tricks for efficient and effective study, and I'd love to pass these on!
I began tutoring back in 2018, and since then have tutored students all the way from Year 2 up to Year 12. This experience has enabled me to refine my teaching tactics and communication skills, allowing me to explain many different concepts at many different educational levels and in different ways (as not everyone learns the same!!!). While my main academic passion lies with the Sciences, I love to tutor Maths and English as well, and have been doing so since my first students.
When I'm not bogged down by lab reports, readings or study, you'd probably find me in the dance studio, the music room practicing trumpet, or the theatre; directing, acting, managing, and everything in between!
