As a year 11 student doing ATAR, I was looking for a tutor that could help me with French. KIS Academics was incredibly helpful and fast at finding me a wace french tutor who could assist me with my studies. My tutor Eliza Carey over the past few months has helped me so much not only in French but in biology and maths as well. I’m incredibly grateful for the effort and commitment she has put into helping me be more comfortable and less stressed about the subjects I was having difficulty with. It’s been nothing but an honour to be tutored by Eliza and I strongly recommend her as a tutor
“I got the top mark for my SAC which was really nice, and I think that’s all because of my tutor”
Medha / Year 12 Student
“It's been absolutely fantastic and it's just been a very positive environment for learning”
Amanda / Parent of a Year 7 Student
Hi there! I'm Tanya and I'm obsessed with all things Maths and Science. I am currently studying a Master of Business (Sports Management) at Deakin University and gradtuated with Bachelor of Science distinction grade with a major in mathematical modelling and a minor in genetics and genomics at the end of 2022. Through out year 12 while I worked hard I also dedicated time to other hobbies to make sure I did not burn out so I could still spend my time running around on a netball court. I also learned the importance of setting up a good platform at the start of VCE to make sure I understood concepts rather than reiterating them for an assessment and having to relearn them for exam period. I'll be able to teach you using my high school experience and my maybe-too-much love for all things Mathematics and Science I am a bit of an introvert so I am a bit shy at first but I promise I'll give my very best and I'm looking forward to working with you and getting to know you! I have a huge preference for in person tutoring as I love to be able to physically interact in learning
Hi everyone! I’m Kinuri and I would be delighted to tutor you this year! After graduating from Korowa Anglican Girls' School with an atar of 97.50, I am now currently studying Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce at Monash University. VCE was an insane and crazy journey for me where you will experience the best moments of your life and also some of the worst (sorry for the spoiler!). I'll be honest, year 11 was not my best year and I struggled a lot with studying techniques, support from teachers and tutors, and approaching SACs in general. So, to make sure I actually enjoyed Year 12, in the summer holidays, I worked on ensuring I was using techniques that actually helped me succeed academically and have fun! I want to make sure that you, as my student, will enjoy year 12 by using effective study techniques and balancing studying with things you enjoy doing!! To succeed in English and Literature, consistency is key! Using sophisticated words that instead ruin your flow and have A+ analysis is one thing, but consistently improving your areas of struggle is most definitely what will strengthen your writing and improves your scores during the year. However, consistency is not just finishing your homework on time all the time (but do make sure you do that!) but also completing activities that focus on your weak spots which I understand can be confronting but will be so valuable as the year progresses. This way, you're always consistently refining your expression and writing style, allowing you to actually see growth in your SAC marks and become the best writer you can be once exam season comes around. Outside of all of this, I like to paint and draw at a very low level, watch movies with my friends, binge TV shows through the night and annoy my little dog (well, I like to call it 'playing' but considering he runs away from me, I think he calls it 'annoying'). I hope to hear from you soon!!
Hey everyone! I'm Seshani and I graduated from Presbyterian Ladies' College after (somehow!) completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2022 :) I received my diploma with a score of 42.75/45 (ATAR of 99.20) as the IB Higher Level Biology Academic Dux. I'm now spending my time studying the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash, working in a research lab, playing netball, and hanging out with friends! During year 12 I learnt not only how to study hard but how to study smart which allowed me to balance studying with sport, volunteering, House Captaincy and a social life (I promise it's possible). I would love to share my experience, tips and tricks I've learnt on my IB and medical school journey to help you excel in school. I know that you may feel completely stuck and unable to improve (trust me I've been there) but I promise there are ways to figure out how you learn the best to start seeing improvements :) I have over 300+ hours of tutoring and I have learnt to cater each session according to my students needs to help them reach their fullest potential. I am currently offering tutoring in VCE Biology, VCE Chemistry and IB Literature.
