As a year 11 student doing ATAR, I was looking for a tutor that could help me with French. KIS Academics was incredibly helpful and fast at finding me a wace french tutor who could assist me with my studies. My tutor Eliza Carey over the past few months has helped me so much not only in French but in biology and maths as well. I’m incredibly grateful for the effort and commitment she has put into helping me be more comfortable and less stressed about the subjects I was having difficulty with. It’s been nothing but an honour to be tutored by Eliza and I strongly recommend her as a tutor
“I got the top mark for my SAC which was really nice, and I think that’s all because of my tutor”
Medha / Year 12 Student
“It's been absolutely fantastic and it's just been a very positive environment for learning”
Amanda / Parent of a Year 7 Student
Hi everyone, I'm Michal! I graduated from John Monash Science School with an ATAR of 98.90 as well as being one of three recipients of my school's subject award for Specialist Mathematics and the captain of the Australian team at the 2021 International Young Physicists' Tournament. In that time, I found myself amazed by the unexpected elegance of maths and the surprisingly natural ways it presents itself in the real world... as well as how criminally boring and bland textbooks and the study design can often make it up to be. This is why I've taken a pledge to stand firm against these endless Legions of Lame by giving the fun and even beautiful side of math a chance whilst still teaching the content that's most important and tailored to your needs. You too can join the fight against the Forces of Mathematical Evil! I'm currently studying an Honours bachelor of Engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering at Monash University. I'm also a member of the student team Monash High Powered Rocketry, being part of the Dynamics subteam where I work on coding our rocket trajectory simulator as well as doing the analysis of our Computational Fluid Dynamics (is the wind slowing our rocket down too much?). Going down this rabbit hole has made me discover even more that maths is just an unnecessarily pretentious way to say extremely obvious things like "If thing is heavy, it's harder to stop" (mathematicians only made math appear as confusing as it is just so they can look smart in my humble opinion. That one's F = ma by the way). Stopping to think about what the math actually says on a down-to-earth level is an awesome skill which teachers and VCAA exam writers HATE. I'll teach you this one simple trick too :))) If you couldn't already tell, I (somewhat shamefully) admit I'm a bit of a nerd, being a huge fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Tarantino and plenty of video games. I love chatting about this kind of stuff with my mates and (if you'll indulge me) may make its way into our classes - expect to see the Enterprise and the rest of my cast get on plenty of hijinks in my custom-written practice questions and SACs!
I am Shrey Kanthiya and I am a high achiever, offering tutoring online for Methods, Specialist Maths, Physics and UCAT. Additionally, I am be providing practise exams, questions and notes to support you throughout year 12. By following the strategies and structure I provide it will ensure that even on a “bad day” that you will easily get 40+ and save those crucial marks. Sure, you can achieve a decent score without tutoring, however if you want to be achieving study scores of 45+ and an ATAR of 99+ then you must put yourself ahead of the competition and learn tips and tricks that not many people have access to or even know about to get you those last couple of marks. Having dropped only 3 marks on the Physics exam and achieving a study score of 47 goes to show how cutthroat the competition is becoming and the value that every mark has. Having worked hard for 12 years up to this point, it would be disappointing to give up on the final hurdle and under preform on the biggest exams you'll face, that is where I will guide you and support you through this final challenge. Through the strategies and skills I have learnt through doing practise questions and exams I have found efficient and effective ways to tackle different question types and I am passing on this knowledge to future students to help them achieve the highest mark possible. Having gone through year 12 I know the stress, nervousness and fear you guys are experiencing however, through the concise notes and lessons I have developed, I can assure you will have mastered all the content and feel more then prepared for the exams by the end of the year. I have achieved: -RAW 49 in Maths Methods Exam 1: 40/40 Exam 2: 79/80 -RAW 44 in Specialist Maths Exam 1: 39/40 Exam 2: 71.5/80 -RAW 46 in Chemistry 105.5/120 Marks on Exam -RAW 47 in Physics 127/130 Marks on Exam -99.70 ATAR -3190 UCAT Score (97 Percentile) -Small interactive group classes to keep maximal support for each student -Learn content first followed by a guided model answer and a opportunity to apply the content learnt -Flexible timing and recordings provided if classes missed -One hour duration -Notes, homework and practise exam bank supplied -24/7 academic support throughout the year
Hi there! My name is Marian and I'm a 3rd year preservice teacher at Monash University with a major in advanced Chemistry, obtaining a high distinction for all Chemistry units and recipient of the Dean Honour List for Chemistry. If you are worried about the implementation of the new 2024 study design...look no further! I have spent months analysing the changes, implementing the new content into my coursework notes and questions, and creating practice SACs that closely match the focus of the new study design. Year 12 is already stressful enough, so I strive to create a friendly and relaxed learning environment where students are given the opportunity to grow both academically, and as individuals. My lessons are welcome to all academic abilities. I have tutored and mentored over 80 students in the past 3 years, from students struggling in Chemistry, to students wanting to excel and achieve a raw 50. All classes are tailored and personalised to match your specific learning goals with a relationship-based pedagogical focus to feel supported during your difficult VCE journey. Speaking of support, all students will access 24/7 guidance and mentorship outside of classes. I am always available to answer late night calls and texts before SACs to make sure you walk in the most confident version of yourself. I have presented seminars to over 1500 VCE students across the state to help fast-track exam success in Chemistry. I am also strongly engaged with RESN to contribute towards bridging the education gap among rural and regional students. Education and Science are my passions, and I would love for you to be a part of that journey with me. Well what is tutoring like? A strong emphasis on guided practice using VCAA questions to ensure all students, regardless of academic capability can develop a conceptual understanding of the content. Memorisation will be avoided at all costs! Clear expectations outlined at the end of each class so that students are guided towards what they need to complete to achieve success in Chemistry, without sacrificing a good night sleep. 2023 Results Highest study score: 48 Raw in Chemistry Highest ATAR: 99.6 Median study score in Chemistry: 38 raw (scaled 42+), that's top 15% of the state!
