I found the best way to achieve strong results throughout high school and Year 12 was to maintain a balanced lifestyle, ensuring that you keep doing the things you love (whether that be sports/music/drama/etc) whilst staying on top of your studies without letting them burn you out. With hard work and efficient study techniques, I graduated with an ATAR of 98.70 and a place at Monash University studying a double degree of Laws/Commerce. My aim is to help encourage students to achieve their academic goals without feeling overwhelmed by the demands of their studies, creating a positive learning environment where students feel extremely comfortable. My favourite hobbies which I spent lots of time doing throughout high school include tennis, soccer and playing the guitar. I have experience as a junior tennis coach for the last 3 years, developing strong relationships with a wide range of students of various ages and abilities.

Hi there! My name is Ashleigh and I am currently taking a gap year after graduating with a full scholarship from Methodist Ladies' College in 2022 as IB Dux Secondi. I received an IB score of 44/45 (thank you chemistry :/), equivalent to an ATAR of 99.75 which, I'd say, leaves me qualified to impart some of my painfully acquired wisdom onto you! I specialise in teaching mathematics as I find it is the subject that most benefits from private tutoring. For most students, the problem stems not from a lack of ability but rather, a learning style that is incompatible with the classroom setting. I am passionate about working closely with my students to find the root of any underlying issues so that they can move forwards with a better understanding of how they personally, can best engage with mathematics. That said, I also find the tutoring of English, French and Economics to be rewarding for my students as these subjects specifically benefit from frequent verbal communication with an expert. English, to discuss thematic ideas and essay writing, French, to practice verbal skills and Economics, to discuss real life examples of theory in a critical manner. Ultimately, I will strive to make our tutoring sessions both helpful and fun so that you will leave each lesson motivated, educated and with a clear picture of how you can reach your goals :)

Hey there! My name is Jack, and I studied my butt off in year 12, graduating as Vice School Captain and Dux of my school with an ATAR of 98.9. My best subjects were History Revolutions and Physics, in which I received study scores of 48 and 47 respectively. When I study (and let me tell you, I've done a lot of studying...) I don't worry too much about memorising everything the teacher said, or analysing every word of their notes. That stuff is boring! Instead, I always focus on actually understanding what it is I'm learning about. I bring this methodology into my tutoring too. If you can fully understand what it is you're being taught, it really becomes easier and more enjoyable. And ultimately, I want to make sure your High School experience is as cruisy and successful as possible. No more worrying about what sort of questions your teachers can throw at you, and no stressing when you're revising, you'll have it in the bag! These strategies helped me to success at high school, and on to uni! After completing my Bachelor of Science with a High Distinction at the University of Melbourne, I am now studying a Masters of Physics, with my research in Optics and Condensed Matter Physics. I do also have a life outside of studying (shocking I know!), where I enjoy travelling, long distance running, playing Netball and Basketball as well as some gaming every now and then.
