As a year 11 student doing ATAR, I was looking for a tutor that could help me with French. KIS Academics was incredibly helpful and fast at finding me a wace french tutor who could assist me with my studies. My tutor Eliza Carey over the past few months has helped me so much not only in French but in biology and maths as well. I’m incredibly grateful for the effort and commitment she has put into helping me be more comfortable and less stressed about the subjects I was having difficulty with. It’s been nothing but an honour to be tutored by Eliza and I strongly recommend her as a tutor
“I got the top mark for my SAC which was really nice, and I think that’s all because of my tutor”
Medha / Year 12 Student
“It's been absolutely fantastic and it's just been a very positive environment for learning”
Amanda / Parent of a Year 7 Student
I am originally from New Zealand but I moved to Australia in 2023 to study a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Queensland. In 2022 I received dux of my high school with an ATAR of 99.95 and top in subject for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and Spanish at my school. I’m a recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship at UQ and have maintained perfect grades throughout my degree (GPA 7). I finished high school mathematics two years early, receiving top in mathematics for my school as a NZ Year 11 student. For the last two years of high school I completed 2 first year and 1 second year university calculus papers, receiving A+ in all three papers and 100% in all final examinations. I have tutored maths for at least seven years for individual and team competitions, and one on one for all levels of schooling. I have a huge passion for calculus and I hope to be able to share my passion and love for maths with my students to encourage them to learn to appreciate its complexity as something which makes it beautiful and useful, rather than frightening. Despite my huge passion for maths, my ultimate love is the sciences. I represented New Zealand for two years in the International Biology Olympiad and last year won a bronze medal at the 2023 competition in Armenia. This year I have tutored students for this biology competition and throughout high school I have tutored all the sciences. Lastly, I have been learning Spanish for nearly six years and I have studied third year university Spanish as an elective in my first year of university, achieving perfect grades both semesters and I would love to share my love of the language with other students. I am incredibly patient and if a student does not understand I pride myself in my ability to always try to provide different approaches to solving problems or learning new material. I focus on understanding how all the important key concepts of a topic are related, as through relationships and evaluating connections between ideas, meaning and deeper understanding can come more naturally. I focus on training my students how to study and learn effectively with the hope that I can not only help them with their studies but also enable them to become life long learners. Through challenging my students to improve not only their mastery of their subject they require help with, but also the way they are learning, I hope to make a more significant impact in their educational journey. Please get in touch if you would like to work with me, I would love to hear from you.
Hi, my name is Riley Singer and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland. I have also accepted provisional entry into UQ’s Doctor of Medicine program so if this is something you are interested in, I would love to help you through the daunting and at times confusing process of med school entry. In terms of my credentials, I received a 98.80 ATAR with excellent results in Chemistry, Physics and Specialist Mathematics as well as a UCAT score of 3100. My current academic interests are in neurobiology and psychology however I’m passionate about pretty much anything medicine related. I have a passion for learning and wish to instil that same passion into all my students through personalised, specific, and effective learning strategies that will work for anyone. I completely understand the stress that can come with high school education and one of my goals is to reduce this unnecessary pressure and make learning an interesting, beneficial, and even sometimes fun endeavour. I’m a very laid-back person who enjoys relaxing and hanging out with friends just as much as anyone else, however when it comes time to studying, I believe that putting in that hour or two of hard work is of utmost importance. So, whether you’re just trying to catch up on your coursework or wanting to grind your way into med school, I believe that I am the tutor for you.
Hi!! My name’s Izak; I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades. I live and teach by a simple philosophy: A complete education is a well-rounded one driven by passion. For me, this meant finding a balance between my love for STEM, literature, drama, sport, and everything in between. It can be daunting to say the least, but I want to help! Graduating in 2020 with an ATAR of 99.40 as the Dux of my high school, I excelled in an odd mix of humanities and STEM subjects. I’m now studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and Economics at UQ while I occupy my spare time with writing, acting and Tae Kwon Do training. With years of tutoring and education experience (ranging from academic tutoring to science shows and martial arts), I have developed a method and style to call my own. I tailor my approach to match the individual, striving to find what inspires them and place their studies into that great big scary web we call “context”! Since graduating, I have tutored 25+ private clients in Math Methods, General English, Physics, Chemistry, English Literature, Study of Religion, and Economics. While I specialise in tutoring senior students, I have plenty of experience with younger students as well. I hope to hear from you soon! Thank you, Izak
