A bit about me
Hi!
My name is Ingrid and I’m currently taking a gap year, having deferred my offer to commence a Bachelor of Science as a Chancellor’s Scholar at The University of Melbourne, with an assured post-graduate medicine pathway. With more spare time on my hands than I’m used to, I’m ready to be able to commit to dedicating the time and energy needed to be not just a good, but a memorable tutor.
Finding the right tutor can be a tricky process and I won’t pretend every student will match every tutor - so here’s a bit more about me and my personal tutoring style, so you can make that call!
Why might I be the tutor for you?
✨ More than marks?
It might seem obvious, but I have to at least mention it. Incredible tutoring isn’t just about showing off good marks or being a high-achiever (important, yes, but by no means the be all and end all). For me, it’s how I can take this first-hand expertise and knowledge and use it to offer you individualised learning experiences that also allow you to achieve your academic goals. I’m here to share insight, tips and strategies to equip you to deal with everything school can throw it you - from the most fundamental questions, to the curviest of curve-ball questions. My goal is for you to achieve understanding, and not have to rely on memorisation or rote-learning content. Amazing numbers and marks mean nothing, if they don’t translate to amazing teaching and guidance.
🌻 I’m not a robot!
Tutoring can be intimidating at first, especially if it’s online, so I promise that I’m not going to be just a face over a screen - I want to get to know you as a person, and similarly, I hope you’ll be able to get to know me too! My priority is to always see you as an individual and build a rapport with you that makes sessions comfortable, and not anxiety-provoking. I’m here to be a real person, that genuinely works with you and guides you - not just a computer image.
Additionally, if you live locally and would prefer face-to-face tutoring, I would LOVE to meet you - I’m more than happy to arrange in-person tutoring sessions as well.
👯♀️ It’s not about me
Essentially, despite the help, guidance and expertise I can offer, NONE of this is about me. It’s about you. I’m not here to be another teacher lecturing in front of a class of 30 - I’m here to create an individualised tutoring plan for you, using proven techniques and my knowledge in completely unique ways for each student. The role I’ll play in your academic journey is entirely up to you, your needs, your wants and your goals. If something doesn’t work for you, we won’t do it. Simple as that. I’m not afraid to change things up and to dedicate my time and energy to developing a tailored approach that suits you, and you alone. I’m not here to judge and no matter your academic goals, I’m ready to get you there.
If my values and strengths as a tutor align with your academic goals and needs, please feel free to get in touch so we can arrange a free study skills consultation! I’ll get back to you as soon as possible, so that we can get started on helping you get EXACTLY where you want to be.
