As a year 11 student doing ATAR, I was looking for a tutor that could help me with French. KIS Academics was incredibly helpful and fast at finding me a wace french tutor who could assist me with my studies. My tutor Eliza Carey over the past few months has helped me so much not only in French but in biology and maths as well. I’m incredibly grateful for the effort and commitment she has put into helping me be more comfortable and less stressed about the subjects I was having difficulty with. It’s been nothing but an honour to be tutored by Eliza and I strongly recommend her as a tutor
“I got the top mark for my SAC which was really nice, and I think that’s all because of my tutor”
Medha / Year 12 Student
“It's been absolutely fantastic and it's just been a very positive environment for learning”
Amanda / Parent of a Year 7 Student
Hi there! I’m Lotte, and I graduated from All Saints’ College with an ATAR of 99.35. My success in Year 12 resulted in the SCSA Biology Subject Exhibition (top student in the state in the WACE Exam); and a 94% overall. Achieving entry into an Assured Pathway to Master of Pharmacy at The University of Western Australia, I am studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. When I’m not studying, you’ll find me running in circles around a track, snorkelling at the beach or hanging out with friends. I wasn’t tutored in high school, but I understand how beneficial a good tutor can be. I learnt teach both myself and my peers by tackling large topics like a jigsaw puzzle – each core concept is a piece of the puzzle - each piece must fit together. This comes with understanding a subject, not just by taking notes in class. Having coached athletics for 4 years, and commentating sporting events for 3, I have acquired skills for teaching myself and communicating to others to achieve in many different disciplines. I pride myself in being a student who engages with subjects renowned for being content-heavy, such as Biology, Human Biology and Chemistry. Genuine understanding, not just ‘rote’ learning is my philosophy, as this allows for knowledge to be applied which is the key to academic success. I have adapted and formulated a range of innovative and effective learning and memory tools to cement comprehending and apply knowledge to produce a high achieving answer. Tutoring should not be a one-way process, instead it ought to be similar to symbiosis, where both parties interact to benefit each other. As my students learn their subjects, I learn which teaching methods suit them best. If you are looking for a dedicated, passionate and high-achieving tutor to guide you to learn, understand and apply scientific knowledge, then I’m the tutor for you!
Hi there Aryaman here! Firstly congratulations to making your way to KIS and choosing to improve and get the best out of your education. I hope to guide you a bit on this journey you've embarked on. So before we begin here's a little bit about me; I am an undergraduate student over at UWA studying biomedical sciences, specifically biochemistry (so my biology and chemistry ought to be my strongest subjects). I am very much keen on pursuing them further when I head towards my goal of going to medical school. A few minutes of talking to me you might realise that I am an international student over from New Delhi, India. I believe the experience I had in a greatly competitive environment, where I had to adopt strategies and techniques to gain the edge, is something that will come in handy to you. Furthermore, I was fairly stranded by myself during my high-school years and spent way too many sleepless nights trying to learn and understand the content until eventually finding simpler ways to do the same, but it might have been too late; this is exactly something I want to help students like you to avoid so you can get that sleep and achieve what you want by keeping it simple! In terms. of academics, I graduated high-school with an IB diploma with a score of 44/45, which has the ATAR equivalent of 99.65 and to the concerns of the students both of these curriculum run hand in hand, in fact due to the research component I undertook we had to learn well beyond the content of our books, which I feel can translate well into our future lessons. Beyond academics, I enjoy going to the beach (main reason behind me coming to Perth), do powerlifting and play guitar on the side. Lastly, I am looking forward to guiding you towards your academic success, let's get our gears rolling then shall we...
