It's a book called "Principles" by a successful businessman named Ray Dalio, who runs the biggest hedge fund in the world (Hedge Funds do complex stuff with money... it's not really relevant here)
In this book, he states a very simple formula that really underpins how to succeed in career, business, life and in your case (more importantly!), the UCAT.
The formula is this:
Pain + Reflection = Progress
If you're sitting the UCAT, odds are you're very much so used to the "Pain" part of this equation.
You've probably experienced it again, and again..
and again...
and again.
Every question, subsection test and exam you do seems to be unbelievably difficult. And sometimes you do well, but sometimes you really screw it up. And you just keep trying again, and again and again.
But have you ever stopped for just a minute and thought to yourself:
"Wait a minute... why am I doing well, or why am I screwing up?"
The part you're probably missing here is the Reflection part of Ray Dalio's equation.
And while I respect your persistence for dealing with so much Pain so many times, you really aren't going to see any improvement without some Reflection.

Hi there! My name is Shanaka and I know what it feels like to fail in achieving my dreams and having my hopes crushed. I am here to ensure that you never have to experience that.
Having initially failed to get into medical school due to failing the UMAT (now UCAT), I devoted myself over the next year to deconstructing the purpose behind aptitude tests, the science and the question writing structure of them. This allowed me to score in the top percentile the following year, and receive offers for all medical schools all around the country.
Since then, I have spent the last 10 years helping, coaching and mentoring over 1,000 students to develop the same strategies so that they can avoid the heartbreak I went through in achieving their goals.
My style of teaching is designed to identify your unique learning style, empower you with it, and show you the strategies you can use to achieve your highest potential using proven approaches that have developed and improved over 10 years of continuous improvement and used with success by over 1,000 students.
