I’m acutely aware that English Advanced is an immensely challenging subject.
There’s no textbook or formulas to follow, and at times it feels like there is an endless amount of reading like a bottomless pit swallowing you whole, but do not fret… this course is designed to help you excel and veritably achieve your potential. Within this high performance program, I precisely break down the HSC performance standards, elucidating what exactly is expected of you in English Advanced. And that's exactly what this course sets out to do - to equip you to succeed both within HSC and far, far beyond.

Hey! My name is Emma, and I am studying a double degree in Law (Honours) and PPE (politics, philosophy and economics) at the Australian National University. I graduated from Pymble Ladies College in 2020 after a long year of covid and was honestly so excited to be finished with high school. But here I am two years later still dealing with the NESA syllabus because I realised that I want to share all my hard work with other students so that they don’t have to work out all the secrets I already know for themselves.
I’m going to be honest with you though, I know most of you are just doing English because itis compulsory, and so was I. All I wanted was to get my band 6 and get out of there. You would think that having done well was a result of passion but really it was because I worked out what markers wanted, turned it into a ‘formula’ and used that formula over and over again. So, in this online course I am going to give you my secret formula for success in each module and hopefully that will make what’s going on in the markers head less mysterious. Trust me, English is easier than you think. Enjoy!
