I'm not going to lie to you. Advanced Maths is tough. Really tough. It's so tough that the majority of students who sit the exam sit it with no hope at all. They've already given up. Here is a quick guide on the differences between HSC maths subjects.
The odds are stacked up against you at no fault of your own. You can go to a tutor. You can pester your teacher.You can buy textbook after textbook and answer question after question. But in this subject, none of that guarantees success.
How do I know? I can tell you from experience.
I saw it in my own classroom happening to my friends, almost happening to me. The majority of students give up on Advanced Maths halfway through the year (if they hadn't already switched to General Maths at the start).
"I'll just focus on my other subjects"
In this subject there are obvious winners or losers, and you don't have to wait until results come out to tell. June, July, August; this is when students start to drop like flies - giving up on their hopes of succeeding in Advanced Maths.
By the time we get to that stage in the year, it'll be too late. If you want to succeed, you must act now.
Think about this. If half of New South Wales' entire Advanced Maths cohort give up halfway through the year, you as a student can interpret that in two ways.
1. You can scare yourself into thinking "I'm digging myself a grave and the year's only just begun"
2. Or you can adopt a winners mindset. You can listen and learn from people who have been there before and achieved what you want to achieve. If half of the HSC cohort gives up on Advanced Maths, that means that come exam time, you're only competing against the half that are taking the subject seriously.
The system may not be in your favour. But the odds are.

Hey, I'm Mitch, but you can call me Mitchell if you like. I graduated year 12 last year in 2019, so I'm well versed in what lies ahead for you. From trial exams, to the glorious memes in the HSC discussion group; year 12 is both challenging and one of the best times of your life. But guess what, I'm here to help with the challenges! I know from my own experience that having someone to guide you through is an amazing help (especially when they're as much of a nerd as me). I graduated as school captain and dux of Blaxland High School with a 99.7 ATAR. And as you may have guessed as a maths tutor, I'm a real lover of STEM subjects. In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, travelling and (weather permitting) skiing. I feel the best way to keep down stress is to keep doing the things you love; so I'm going to help make sure you don't have to give them up to stay on that study grind. I'm currently studying Doctor of Medicine at UWS, and enjoying the isolation.
