Emily
Hi đ Iâm Emily, I am currently studying Law and Commerce at the Australian National University and would love to help you reach your full potential in French! Although I am not a native speaker, I am quite comfortable with the language as I have been speaking French nearly all my life, having gone to a bilingual primary school and having completed VCE French with a study score of 47. As someone who loves learning languages, I have experienced picking up German in year 9 from scratch and attempting to master it in VCE. Through this experience, I understand the strategies required to build fluency from all different starting points. As such, while VCE languages have a reputation for being quite daunting and a lot of work, I found that having an outline for the year ahead and someone to practice conversations with on a weekly basis can help you feel so much more comfortable with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I typically offer support in the five following areas: *Â Â Â Â Â Â grammar (conjugating verbs in different tenses, articles, prepositions, etc.) *Â Â Â Â Â Â written expression (spelling, grammar, text types, sentence-openers, useful vocabulary) *Â Â Â Â Â Â reading comprehension (reading passages from articles to build vocabulary and learn new expressions) *Â Â Â Â Â Â listening comprehension (we would work towards fully comprehending the language when it is spoken at the pace of a native speaker) *Â Â Â Â Â Â speaking (structuring sophisticated verbal responses for a range of topics, as well as developing improvisational skills essential for the final VCE exam) Thatâs all from me, I look forward to hopefully meeting you and getting to know a bit more about you and your goals đ
