Hello, Guys! 👋

Hi! I’m Sophia, and I’m currently a student at UQ, studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours). I graduated from Yr 12 with a 99.60 ATAR and top scores (100) in Specialist Maths, Math Methods, and Physics. I had the honour of receiving the QCE 2024 Distinguished Academic Achievement award.

Over the years, I’ve developed a passion for teaching, having worked with many high school students of all year levels to help them achieve their academic goals. I stand firm by my belief that every student has the potential to succeed, they just need the right guidance tailored to their unique learning style.

While Year 12 was undoubtedly challenging, my experimentation with different study techniques during early high school allowed me to discover a method that worked best for me, making the year much more manageable. This has taught me how important it is to adapt my teaching approach to suit each of my student’s needs, making their academic journey a little easier and less intimidating. By combining this personalised approach with great mentorship, I’m confident my students will have all the tools they need to succeed.

However, the most important aspect my tutoring experience has shown me is how crucial it is to not only help my students grow in both confidence and ability, but also foster their own love for learning, which is something that has inspired me to become a tutor myself.
