Sashank
Hey there !
I'm Sashank, and as you might've guessed I'm a tutor. Throughout my time in high school I learnt how to study, learnt how to make sense of the mythical syllabus, and learnt how to prepare for assignments and exams, and all of this I think might be of interest to you.
I love the humanities and social sciences and so during my time at school I stacked my subjects with them and I did particularly well at economics, literature, politics and law, and modern history. Although I enjoyed them from the beginning because of my personal interest, I never immediately excelled at them. It took time and practice for me to hone in my skills so that I could translate the passion I had for the subjects I loved, into marks that I would be happy with (bit utilitarian I know, but such is the world !)
What I hope I can do is to use this accumulated knowledge gained from the blood, sweat, and tears of my high school journey to help you improve on your performance in your subject. For everyone this means something different: for some, it is merely about refining their language and using the proper literary terminology, or it's about having clear structure when writing their essays, and for others its about wrapping their heads around concepts which their teacher might not have explained properly. And wherever you are along that journey, I'm here to help. I am here to help you with developing skills both specific to your subject (i.e. how to do the modern history source analysis) and more generic skills such (i.e. essay writing) that you can transfer between subjects. I am also here to help you find the passion for your subjects, because I think that the best tutor is someone who helps a student find their passion for their subjects, to find the motivation to do well by themselves, and potentially even outgrow a tutor. If I accomplish this too well, it may mean that I am out of a job, but I think that's a price I'm willing to pay.
When I'm not tutoring students, I'm studying away to get my Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) at the Australian National University, majoring in economics and international security. Or if I'm not studying, I'll be reading (history, politics, and economics if you want to chat about any books) , or perhaps even cooking in the precarious zone of danger that is the shared kitchen space of a university accomodation.
