Hello! My name is Julia Mikus and I am here to help you achieve your academic goals whilst also being that friendly face that we all need during our schooling years. A bit about me, I love being active whether that be running, yoga, pilates or taking my puppy on her daily walks! I have a passion for cooking and love to share recipes with my friends and family, and I also love to read, especially historic fiction! I graduated from Our Lady of Mercy College in 2023 with an ATAR of 97.9 as well as being the College Dux of English, History Revolutions and Global Politics. After graduating high school, I took a gap year and lived in France for 7 months as an Au Pair and then travelled around Europe. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Laws/Global Studies at Monash University, majoring in French.
I am passionate about making a difference in the world and therefore would like to use my degree to become an human rights lawyer and work for different NGOs around the world. During my years at school, I was someone who put a lot of pressure on myself to perform well and so I understand the stress and overwhelm that some of you may be feeling! I am here not only to guide you through complex concepts, answer your questions no matter how small, refine your essay writing skills and help you master exam techniques, but also to be someone you feel supported and encouraged by. My lessons are tailored to each individual student, working out and focussing on their strengths and weaknesses as well as adapting my own teaching techniques to best suit each student and to ensure that they are engaged and enjoying our lessons. I truly believe that the relationship between a teacher and their student is the key to making improvements and so fostering a positive and supportive environment, and forming strong connections with my students is something that I value greatly. Whether you are looking to get ahead on content, refine those exam and essay writing skills, challenge yourself or just have someone you can talk through difficult concepts with, I am able to cater my lessons to your needs and goals!
