Joanna
Hi there! I’m Joanna, and I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. I graduated high school with an ATAR of 99.65, as the subject dux in Math Methods, Specialist Maths, and Chinese SLA. I was also part of the University of Melbourne Math Extension Program, which gave me an early head start on university-level mathematics and strengthened my problem-solving skills.
Believe it or not, I wasn’t always confident in math. It wasn’t until I had an amazing tutor who completely transformed the way I learned that I started to enjoy and excel in the subject. That experience inspired me to become a tutor myself—to help students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or just want to improve their performance without spending hours on ineffective study methods. Whether you’re struggling to keep up, trying to boost your marks before an exam, or looking for ways to refine your problem-solving skills, I tailor my lessons to fit your specific needs. My goal is to make sure you’re not just memorising formulas but actually understanding the content. We can work to break down complex concepts in a way that makes sense to you so you can apply them effectively in tests and exams. Outside of tutoring, I love hanging out with friends and spending time with my adorable dog, Toffee . I know how important it is to balance study with personal time, which is why I keep emphasising on studying smart, not just hard—so you can succeed academically without sacrificing the things you love. If you’re looking for a tutor who is an absolute dog person and… understands the challenges of learning math, feel free to reach out! I’d love to work with you and help make math a little less stressful. Looking forward to meeting you!
