Hi! My name is Gordon Barrie and I am a current student at the University of Queensland studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics. I graduated from from Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) in 2025 with an ATAR of 99.15, and I understand how overwhelming school can feel, especially when you’re trying to keep up across multiple subjects. I aim to make tutoring a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities. My focus isn’t just on improving marks, but on helping students genuinely understand the content so they can apply it in exams without relying on memorisation alone, and teaching students the importance of time management. Having recently completed the QCE system, I’m familiar with the expectations of internal assessments and external exams, and belive I can provide strategies for studying, problem solving and exam technique across subjects such as Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Economics. Overall, I’m passionate about helping students reach their potential, and teaching them efficient learning methods.
