Bridie
Hi there! My name is Bridie, here’s a bit about me:
A quick note I would like to make, I am not the traditional high-scoring ATAR achiever as I struggled significantly during my years 10 and 11 but had what you could call an “epiphany” or – in other words - I knuckled down into my studies and had a real breakthrough in year 12.
The little philosophy that gets me through my studies is that “just because you aren’t where you want to be, doesn’t mean you can’t get there” - all you need to do is work hard, be committed and be courageous.
Okay, now that my ontological perspective is out there, I graduated high school as the College Dux, achieving top of my class/subject for 4 of my 5 subjects; I received a study score of 49 in English, and 48 in English and Literature Extension. I went through all my Humanity internal assessments at 100% and achieved the top 1% and 2% in my final external exams.
My goal now is to share my knowledge and passion for all English and Literacy students who shake and quiver at the very thought of writing the dreaded essay, or to those who are looking to refine their skills and take their writing to the next level.
Throughout year 12, I LOVED English and challenged myself to unleash my potential by creating and following a personalised study schedule for each subject, which opened my life to engage in all the other things I love like sport, co-curricula activities, and having a social life. After graduating I applied these skills to my university studies.
I am currently studying Education at Swinburne University and love playing social cricket and volleyball, and break- up my time playing representative netball – you might see me around at Nissan Arena! I also love scouting for the best brunch café around and finding a good nook to read in (my ideal day lol).
