A bit about me
Hi! My name is Jonathan Gnanaseelan and I graduated from JAMES RUSE AGRICULTURAL HS in 2023, and I am currently studying the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Commerce double degree at UNSW. In terms of my personal achievements, I was an HSC All-round achiever (Band 6 in at least 10 course units), and also received a NSW State Rank 7th in Agriculture with a mark of 97. I am keen on tutoring Mathematics and Science for all years - achieving a 97 in my Chemistry HSC, and a 96 in Extension 1 Math.
Away from my studies, I enjoy playing and watching sport in my spare time mainly football and basketball. I believe that having a balance between studies and personal fulfilment is what assisted me throughout the stresses of high-school, helping me achieve the results that I got.
As a tutor, my primary aim is to foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, where students feel comfortable exploring their academic challenges and honing their exam skills. Recognising the importance of individualised attention, I prioritise addressing areas of weakness and refining examination techniques that may not receive ample focus in traditional classroom settings.
Moreover, my commitment to student success extends beyond scheduled lessons. I am readily accessible for prompt communication, whether students require urgent clarification or seek feedback between sessions. This open line of communication underscores my dedication to providing ongoing support and guidance, fostering a collaborative partnership in pursuit of academic excellence.
