Warren
Hey, I'm Warren and I graduated from Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School with a 99.85 ATAR and am currently studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. I believe that many talented students out there, with unique abilities and learning styles, are overlooked in traditional classroom teaching. As such, I make it my mission to tailor my teaching to each student’s particular wants and needs, ensuring that they get the most out of each lesson.
I encourage students to look beyond simply rote memorising disjoint facts and formulae. Rather, I focus on using critical thinking skills to build links between concepts to produce a more complete picture of the subject matter. This approach fosters greater information uptake and retention, access to higher order thinking, and confidence when tackling those tricky “separator” questions. Additionally, I recognise the importance of just being a friend and emotional resource for stressed-out students as they navigate the ups and downs of high school.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with mates, playing tennis, playing piano and bingeing TV shows. I find that progress and wellbeing, both in academics and broader life, come from effectively striking a balance between different areas. Anyway, don’t hesitate to reach out – I look forward to meeting you all!
