Tom
Hey! My name is Tom, and I recently graduated from Knox Grammar School, achieving an ATAR of 98.55. I am currently studying medical science, with a goal of one day studying medicine.
I understand the pressures and stress of senior years at high school especially. Having always had a wish to study medicine, I can remember how far out of reach such a high ATAR felt at the beginning of year 11. I learnt through my own experience different study techniques and the importance of consistent study and perseverance across all subjects, even the difficult ones, and I feel confident in imparting as a tutor.
Through this consistent and balanced preparation I was able to score a band 6 in all of my subjects in year 12. I understand how chaotic school can be. Having played water polo for school and club, led my company in school cadets, served as a school prefect and house captain as well as a number of social justice initiatives, I found it difficult at times to balance my own extracurricular life and the demands of studying for the results I wanted
This being said, as a tutor, I want to help you learn in a way that is adaptable to you, and effective to help you develop study skills and the confidence to ace your exams. I have a broad range of general study tips, as well as technical subject knowledge to really help you push yourself to excel. I have a passion to tutor any student, and not only help answer questions, but to mentor you and set you up to achieve whatever your goals may be!
