Tom
Hi, I'm Tom, an HSC Year 11-12 Tutor; but first, how many times have you heard someone say "English is so subjective!" I'm willing to bet that, more often than not, students believe that the humanities, unlike that of Maths or Chemistry, aren't objective subjects. However, my tutoring ethos is to demonstrate how this isn't the case. All the while, I hope to motivate students to see how they can combine their passions and interests with their humanities subject choices. I was the Internal Dux of Year 12 HSC at my school, attaining an ATAR of 97.70 and a spot on the HSC's All-Round Achievers List. At my high school, I achieved rank 1 internally in English Extension 1, English Advanced, Legal Studies, and Geography. Furthermore, I achieved 48s and E4s in English Extension 2 and English Extension 1. Therefore, I'm familiar with the ins and outs of some of the most intensive units of English that the HSC can throw at you. Now, I tutor humanities subjects in the HSC for students in Years 11-12, both face-to-face and online; sharing some of the expertise that I gathered throughout my HSC journey with my students. Alongside that, I study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Sydney University. Besides academics, I also frequent the beach, and love music and all things literature.
