Sophie
Hi there! My name is Sophie, and I am studying the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at Monash University (School Leavers Entry / Unbonded).
I graduated as the Dux and College Captain of my high school in 2022. I (weirdly!) was a person who LOVED school, and was able to balance leadership responsibilities, studying for the UCAT and MMI, achieving a high ATAR, all whilst still engaging with my friends and extracurriculars. The reason for this - I developed study strategies that prepared me to ace SACs and VCAA exams without overloading my brain with unnecessary information. I would love to help you do this too!
My scores: - UCAT 3190 (97th percentile in 2022) - ATAR 99.70 - Psychology: raw 50 - Biology: raw 49 - High scores in both Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics
My tutoring style is completely flexible to each student’s needs and expectations.
However, for students who love structure, a typical VCE lesson will start with revision, before moving on to answering your questions and going over complicated concepts. I will then teach you the next topic in an interactive way, before we finish with some practice VCAA questions – the best way to prepare you for your exams!
As a tutor, I not only want to see you excel and reach all your goals for VCE, but I also hope to encourage and mentor you throughout Year 12. I will equip you with the study skills you need, and the confidence to walk into your end of year exams.
Additionally, I have a wide range of experience tutoring younger students in schools and privately, largely in mathematics. You might be a student who struggles to understand fundamental concepts, and I would love to help you too.
Aside from tutoring, I spend a large chunk of time learning medicine which I love, doing pilates, running, reading good books, and watching Friends or House!
