Shayekh
Hi! I'm Shayekh and I'm currently studying Medicine at the Joint Medical Program. A bit about myself – My hobbies include gym, running, running, badminton, squash, bouldering, video games and eating way too much food (not all at once). I’m also a big fan of my cat Simba and teaching! I've got close to 5 years of tutoring experience across a breadth of subjects and year levels, ranging all the way from kindergarten to year 12, and my favourite part of the job is seeing a student gain motivation, confidence and an appreciation for their learning. In particular, I am a maths enthusiast and I seek out opportunities to scratch that itch for maths that's never gone away since I did my HSC. I wasn’t always a fan of maths, however. For the longest time I was unmotivated and found maths quite boring. It wasn’t until around year 11 that I really focused on building an intuition for what I was learning – Along with being blessed with my maths tutor who I really clicked with –That I started to perform well, and subsequently enjoy the subject. Maths encapsulates and describes so many of the things that we encounter in real life (often in very abstract ways!). It's something I find highly inspiring, and I wish to pass that inspiration on to you.
