Ryan
Hi, my name is Ryan! It would be a great pleasure to tutor you, as nothing gives me greater joy than being alongside others throughout their school journeys!
I have been fortunate enough to work with numerous students, across all year levels and learning styles, which has given me valuable experience I hope to share with you as we delve into English, Maths or Commerce! Beyond teaching, I love just having conversations about life, and these bonds we share, can help to accelerate progression in learning,
The schooling system, especially VCE, is really just disguised as a game, and together, we can ensure that you are equipped with the skills and tactics to ensure that the system doesn't beat you!
I graduated high school with an ATAR of 98.85 and a raw study score of 48 (top 1% in Victoria) in English Language. As I was part of the school's accelerated learning program, I actually completed English Language as a Year 11 and I was recognised as my school's subject dux for that year.
For success in English Language, it is pivotal that the foundations across metalanguage, analytical commentary and essay writing techniques are consolidated. I will to continue to reinforce these most basic and fundamental, but necessary skills, for students to succeed in their internal SACs and their final end-of-year exams. Students will be provided with excellent resources that I personally used during my time as a student, as well as more recent and contemporary evidence relevant to this year's study design, that I have compiled myself, that they can use in their own essays.
Oh, and I'll throw in a complementary and extensive "Eng Lang End of Year Cheat Sheet" that I co-authored. It provided the most crucial end of year exam tips to my fellow Year 12s.
Outside of academics, I really enjoy my sports (mainly soccer and cricket), as well as my music. I primarily play saxophone (alto, but have regularly played the baritone for the school's stage band), but I also have recently been inspired to teach myself piano (after many years of neglect!)
Looking forward to having a chat with you!
