Praneetha

Hello there! My name is Praneetha, and I graduated from the MacRobertson Girls' High School in 2023. I achieved a 42 in Chemistry as well as a 48 in Biology during VCE, and I'm now enjoying my second year of the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. I'm majoring in Biochemistry with a WAM of 86 (First Class Honours), which demonstrates my sustained interest in science. Furthermore, I have an extensive educational background consisting of 2 years at Kumon and 3 years of private tutoring - including last year, when I tutored five students at both a 1/2 and 3/4 level. I am currently balancing tutoring three 3/4 students alongside a highly competitive role at the University of Melbourne in which I tutor first year biology students. I am therefore very passionate about helping you achieve your study goals and actually have the expertise to do so!

My ideas sound great in theory, you might say, but how will I practically achieve this? Well, I operate on the principle of teaching you the skills required to be an independent thinker who can tackle anything that comes your way! Not only will I prepare you with everything you need to know so that you can walk into the final exam with confidence, but I will also sprinkle in some study advice and questions that target higher order thinking to bolster your learning outside of our classes. My classes will involve a lot of active recall and spaced revision to aid with your memorisation of the content, but I will also ensure that all the concepts we learn are explained in a way such that you gain a holistic understanding. You can rest assured that unlike other tutors you may have encountered in the past, I recognise that science is all about gaining an understanding of the world around us and solving the problems that arise from its complexity, rather then merely rote-memorising isolated facts.
