Hello, Guys! 👋
Hey there! My name is Praneetha, and I graduated in 2023 from the MacRobertson Girls' High School with an ATAR of 98.90! I've just started my third and final year of the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Biochemistry with a WAM of 86 (First Class Honours). In 2025 I will be holding private tutoring lessons for VCE Biology and Chemistry, in which I achieved the scores of 48 and 42 respectively.
I have an extensive educational background consisting of 2 years at Kumon and 3 years of tutoring 14 students at both a 1/2 and 3/4 level. In 2025 I was fortunate enough to secure the highly competitive role of PASS Leader at the University of Melbourne, in which I conducted group tutoring sessions for first year biology students in the subjects BIOL10008 and BIOM10002. This opportunity allowed me to further elevate my pedagogical skills and deepened my appreciation for science education. I am therefore very passionate about helping you achieve your study goals and have the expertise to do so!
I remember all too well how hectic VCE was; it is a time when much of your life may be put on hold due to the overwhelming stress of performing your very best. I am therefore committed to supporting you both academically and emotionally throughout this tumultuous year by being your personal cheerleader (who also happens to be great at answering questions!)
My classes can cater to both top scorers who need that extra nudge but also to any students who may have struggled with poor grades in the past and are seeking drastic improvement. I truly believe that ANYONE, irrespective of their initial learning capabilities, can achieve their study goals with the right guidance.
That sounds great in theory, you might say, but how will I practically achieve this? Well, I operate on the principle of teaching you the skills required to be an independent thinker who can tackle anything that comes your way! Not only will I prepare you with everything you need to know so that you can walk into the final exam with confidence, but I will also sprinkle in some study advice and questions that target higher order thinking to bolster your learning outside of our classes. My classes will involve a lot of active recall and spaced revision to aid your memorisation of the content, but I will also explain topics in a way such that you gain a comprehensive, holistic understanding.
You can rest assured that unlike other tutors you may have encountered in the past, I recognise that science is all about gaining an understanding of the world around us and solving the problems that arise from its complexity, rather than merely rote-memorising isolated facts. So, if you're after an approachable, flexible and experienced tutor who's truly passionate about science education and will provide the support you need to ace your year, then definitely get in touch with me :)
