Olivia
Hello!! I am Olivia. I started tutoring after class when I was still in school, and continue to do so while I study Medicine at Griffith University. So that amounts to about 7 years of experience!
Over the years, I have worked with a range of students and subjects. I have experience working with children with ADHD, Autism and other learning difficulties. I love seeing how, as my students improve, they grow more confident, enjoy class more and increase their engagement with school and their peers. I feel privileged to be part of this journey at such a crucial time in life.
Looking back on my time in high school I am really proud of what I achieved especially as I never felt that I had to sacrifice things I cared about. I would surf before school, see my friends every weekend, I completed an exchange in France and I even graduated with Honours in Performing Arts as I was in musicals, bands and plays. Breaking complex concepts down into their simple core level, swapping out rote memorising, and learning how to love learning are, in my experience, the ways to achieve this. Through tutoring, we can effectively build these skills.
These days, I fill up my days with more surfing, playing soccer, live music and of course, a good book and a cup of tea :) So I can assure you, you do not need to give up on the things that make you happy to do well! I'll show you how!
