Hi there! My name is Marian and I'm a 4th year preservice teacher at Monash University with a major in advanced Chemistry, obtaining a high distinction for all Chemistry units and recipient of the Dean Honour List for Chemistry.
If you are worried about the implementation of the new 2024 study design...look no further! I have spent months analysing the changes, implementing the new content into my coursework notes and questions, and creating practice SACs that closely match the focus of the new study design. You will have access to over 750 pages of course notes for Unit 3, Unit 4 and experimental design, and VCAA exam-style questions that are organised per chapter. All 2024 textbooks, and over 10 2024 trial exams are also available.
Year 12 is already stressful enough, so I strive to create a friendly and relaxed learning environment where students are given the opportunity to grow both academically, and as individuals. My lessons are welcome to all academic abilities. I have tutored and mentored over 100 students in the past 4 years, from students struggling in Chemistry, to students wanting to excel and achieve a raw 50. All classes are tailored and personalised to match your specific learning goals with a relationship-based pedagogical focus to feel supported during your difficult VCE journey.
Speaking of support, all students will access 24/7 guidance and mentorship outside of classes. I am always available to answer late night calls and texts before SACs to make sure you walk in the most confident version of yourself.
I have presented seminars to over 1500 VCE students across the state to help fast-track exam success in Chemistry. I am also strongly engaged with RESN to contribute towards bridging the education gap among rural and regional students. Education and Science are my passions, and I would love for you to be a part of that journey with me.
Well what is tutoring like?
A strong emphasis on guided practice using VCAA questions to ensure all students, regardless of academic capability can develop a conceptual understanding of the content. Memorisation will be avoided at all costs!
Clear expectations outlined at the end of each class so that students are guided towards what they need to complete to achieve success in Chemistry, without sacrificing a good night sleep.
