Hey! I’m Maksim — future doctor, robotics junkie, part-time mountain goat 🏞️, and full-time enthusiast for all things learning.
I was Dux of my high school (ATAR 99.5 - top 2% of the state), both Junior and Senior School Captain, and a World Championship contender in VEX Robotics (yes, those tiny battle bots are seriously competitive). But despite all that, I didn’t always know how to study effectively. I used to try brute-forcing my way through textbooks, thinking more hours meant more marks — until I realised that soaking up content like a sponge wasn’t the smartest way forward.
That’s when everything changed. I began refining my approach — learning how to strip away the fluff, focus on what really matters, and use the syllabus as a roadmap. I maximised efficiency, improved my understanding, and never pulled an all-nighter or gave up my hobbies (well... maybe during externals). I genuinely believe that to be a successful student, you also need to live a balanced life — hanging out with friends, doing what you love, and studying smart.
I’m currently on a gap year here on the Gold Coast, applying for a Doctor of Medicine pathway, and using this time to share what I’ve learned with students like you.
When I’m not tutoring, you’ll probably find me hiking up a trail with friends, speed-reading encyclopedias on ancient civilisations (yes, really), or demonstrating Newton’s Laws using cereal boxes and whatever’s nearby. My sessions are all about clarity, connection, and confidence — because school shouldn’t feel like a grind. Let’s make it make sense, together.
