Hello, Guys! 👋
Hi, I’m Mackenzie! I am a first year qualified teacher who is currently completing the last two subjects in my teaching qualification with a focus on HSIE subjects, specialising in Geography and Society & Culture. Through my university placements and tutoring experience, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping students not only improve their marks, but genuinely understand and enjoy what they’re learning. I know firsthand how overwhelming schooling can be, especially when balancing assessments, exams and life outside the classroom, and that’s where I come in.
As a tutor, I combine strong subject knowledge with clear structure, personalised feedback, and practical exam strategies. I don’t just re-teach content, I show students how to interpret questions, structure high-scoring responses, and think critically. I place a strong emphasis on building confidence, because I truly believe that when students feel capable, their results follow.
Outside of academics, I love baking (even when i might burn things), collecting pokemon cards, beyblades and legos, however what is most important is that i am continuously refining my teaching practice. I am especially passionate about supporting different learning styles, including students who may be struggling in school as well as gifted and twice-exceptional learners, and adapting lessons to suit each student’s needs.
My goal is simple: to help all my students feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress, and to make learning feel empowering rather than stressful.
