Jamie
Hi there!! My name's Jamie, and I'd love to help you do your best in your school studies.
I graduated high school with an ATAR of 99.35, including scores in the top 5% of Victoria in Music Inquiry (ranked 2nd in the state), English Language, and Maths Methods. During school, I always enjoyed helping other people in class, and loved finding different ways of explaining difficult concepts to them. Now that I'm a tutor, I'm finding this more formal way of helping other people to be super rewarding.
I'm currently a student at The University of Melbourne, doing a Bachelor of Science (majoring in maths) then a Masters of Data Science. I've always loved maths, and I can help you understand the content, but also give you strategies for maximising your marks in tests and exams. I have some really useful skills to help with VCE English Language. I initially hated Eng Lang, but once I cracked the code, I started to like it and everything fell into place. I'd like to help you do the same and understand what the assessors want.
I really enjoyed my time at school because I always found a good balance between my academic studies and lots of music performing, as well as hanging out with my friends. I'm a jazz trumpeter and, in my final year at school, I was awarded the "Golden Mouthpiece Award" for the most outstanding lead trumpet player in the nation-wide schools' jazz competition (GIJ) over in South Australia. I'm still playing in bands, and have always liked helping other musicians develop their skills.
These days, you might catch me hanging out with friends, playing jazz, or having a cheeky gaming sesh.
