Hello, Guys! 👋
Hi, I’m James - a 99.95 ATAR graduate and Dux of Hobart College, currently studying the Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland.
I understand firsthand how demanding high school can be. The pressure of exams, expectations, and future pathways can feel overwhelming. But, with the right structure and guidance, it becomes manageable and even rewarding. Having excelled across all subjects in high school and graduating with a perfect GPA (7.0) in my Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at UQ, I have developed not only strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, Economics, Biology, Anatomy and Chemistry, but also highly effective study systems that consistently produce results.
Beyond my academic achievements, I bring real teaching experience. I have worked for two years as a tutor hired by UQ, where I’ve helped students break down complex concepts and develop genuine understanding. This professional experience allows me to adapt to different learning styles and explain difficult material clearly and efficiently.
My teaching philosophy centres on empowering students. I focus on building confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills - not just memorisation. My goal is to help students feel comfortable tackling challenging questions on their own, while improving both performance and self-belief.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, playing soccer, going to the gym, and spending time with friends - and I strongly believe that academic success should complement a balanced life, not replace it.
If you’re looking for structured, high-level academic support from someone who has navigated the pathway successfully, I would love to help.
