James
Hi Everyone!! My name is James and I have been tutoring high school students of all ages for over 4 years now. I provide a casual tutoring style to create a comfortable learning environment and make students confident in their abilities. I teach students concepts such that they can intuitively and fundamentally understand them; I focus on this as I believe it gives students the knowledge to learn new content easier and the confidence to succeed in their studies.
I graduated from Matthew Flinders Anglican College on the Sunshine Coast with an ATAR of 99.90 and a raw subject score of 100 in math methods. I was awarded top of subject awards in math methods, specialist math, physics and philosophy. I am now studying a Bachelor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering/Master of Engineering at the University of Queensland on the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship, and am well on my way to graduating with top honors.
I am offering tutoring for math methods, specialist mathematics as well as all math grade 5-10. In addition to this, due to the nature of my degree I can offer assistance with engineering students, as well as assistance with physics and philosophy; however, these should be additional subjects and not our core focus.
Outside of anything academic, I've been playing rugby union for almost 15 years at many representative levels on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane so I can really understand what it means to be a student athlete and how to maintain good grades around sport. I've also got a great passion for music and play electric guitar and keyboard in a Brisbane based band.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you make high school more smooth sailing whilst having fun doing it!
James :)
