Hello, Guys! 👋
Hey, I’m Idan! I’m a Psychology student at Monash University and a graduate from Templestowe College. I’ve been tutoring Math Methods for four years, and I enjoy working with students through confusing concepts until things start to click. I’m approachable, supportive, and easy to talk to, so you can ask questions freely and stay engaged with the maths. My experience in informal education and swim teaching has shaped the way I explain ideas clearly, stay patient, and adapt when something isn’t landing.
After graduating, I was naturally drawn to teaching Math Methods. It was the subject I enjoyed most at school and the one I felt most confident explaining in a logical, step-by-step way. Over time, it became clear that this was where I could make the biggest impact, which is why I chose to focus my tutoring on Methods. I enjoy the problem-solving, the structure behind it, and helping you see how ideas connect once they click.
In high school, I realised that real improvement only came once I took responsibility for my own learning. I had to figure out how I learn best and how to push myself, especially in maths. I know how challenging that shift can be, and I have since made it my goal to support my students through the same process, helping them take control of their learning and build understanding in Math Methods at their own pace.
When you work with me, lessons stay practical and grounded. We slow things down when needed, break questions apart, and focus on understanding rather than memorising steps. I also believe support should extend beyond the lesson itself, so I’m always available for questions, extra guidance, and extra sessions when things ramp up.
I know that everyone learns differently, which is why each lesson is adapted to you, your pace, and what you need at the time, helping you build skills and confidence that last throughout school and beyond!
