Holly
Hi! I'm Holly and I'm a current ARTS/LAW student at the ANU. In the arts aspect of my degree I'm majoring in English and have a minor in Philosophy alongside my law degree. Outside of study I enjoy reading (I'm a real bookworm!), Pilates and movie nights in with friends. Since year 10, I have been tutoring maths and English with students ranging from year 3 to year 12. I also have experience helping students who struggle with reading/literacy through my high school volunteer program. Given my study of English in university, I am a particularly passionate English tutor, and am personally familiar with the English Advanced, Extension 1 and Extension 2 courses, respectively achieving a 93, 46 and 47 in each course. I am also very passionate in my study of law, doing Legal Studies in high school (receiving a 95) and continuing through to study it at university. My view of tutoring is that it is a collaborative process between tutor a student, in which there is a mutual benefit and knowledge gained by both parties. I always strive to cultivate a really comfortable learning environment in which improvement is celebrated and study becomes something enriching, not punishing. Supporting my students and watching them grow is a real highlight of tutoring for me, as I have been there before and know the satisfaction of putting in the work and those desired results! As an ambitious person, I would love to help out in making those seemingly hard to achieve grades that little bit more accessible, no matter the level.
