Ethan
Hey, my name is Ethan. I graduated high school as Vice-Captain with a 99.3 ATAR and a genuine love for maths — yep, that’s right, I actually enjoyed solving equations for fun.
Getting that score was important to me, but so was making time for the things I loved — like making it to every AFL game I could here on the Gold Coast. I know how overwhelming Year 12 can feel, and while the phrase “work smarter, not harder” gets thrown around a lot, it’s thrown around for a reason. I learned early on that long, tiring study sessions don’t always equal good results. What does work is cutting the unnecessary stuff, staying consistent and giving yourself a chance to recharge— because burning out helps no one.
Currently I’m studying Engineering at the University of Queensland, where I get to build, create, and explore ideas in some pretty incredible workshops. Outside of that, I’m usually reading, catching up with friends, or still glued to the footy. As a tutor, I focus on helping students simplify complex concepts and build real confidence with an understanding of the topic so they can succeed without sacrificing the things that make them who they are.
